So, a quick social media question. I’ve been noticing that most clients who come to us seeking WordPress customization and web design don't really have a social media strategy. At best, most think that social media is where a site/blog is your hub. Twitter/FB/G+ are just messages that point back to it and at worst some don't think it's even necessary. My question, to those interested and if you have a website/blog, is: "What is your strategy and why?"
IMO is not that they don't see the benefits of social networking, but rather, they just lack the know-how and the inspiration. Finding things to write about is not easy especially when you add to it that you need something that is going to draw the attention of your target audience. So if you're like me and and inspiration is what has been keeping you back from getting your grubby little fingers (seriously though I'd wash them) started. Here's a tip to get you started:
Google+ - The first thing you need to do to start using Google+ is sign in using your Google account. That done, click the "explore" icon.
Do a search to find what other bloggers are writing about.
With that done, place the cursor in the search field and enter a word or phrase that best describes your niche. For example, if cooking is your niche, you can try keying something like "Cooking Recipes". When you find a post you like, don't be shy to add a comment, +1 the post, or add that blogger to your circle.
This will keep you in the loop about what people are blogging about in your subject area and also typically speaking, posts with lots of comments are even more awesome because they offer a wealth of new ideas.
