How To Get More Reviews On Google

This a simple tutorial to help facilitate the Google review process.

How Google reviews come about

Getting a customer to leave a review is hard enough without having to explain anything. Now just imagine for every customer having to explain how Google reviews come about. One thing I've read to do is to provide a link to your Places page but the problem with that is that I'd still have to have specific instructions to tell people what to do once they're there. Argh! Fortunately for you, I think I may have found a solution.

Step 1: Make a link straight to the Google Review Box

Grade.us just developed a tool called the Google Review Links Generator. To generate your link, here's all you have to do: Open your nearest browser, head over to grade.us and generate your review link code.

Step 2: Shrink your URL to make your link more manageable

Shrinking the url will make it look nice and pretty plus it will be tracked for clicks. Here is where you can go to actually do that.

Step 3: How you ask is what you get

Like apples of gold in silver carvings Is a word spoken at the right time
–Proverbs 25:11

Let your words always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should answer each person.
–Colossians 4:6

It's okay to ask for feedback, but watch your timing and make sure your "ask" doesn't sound like a canned followup! For example, after a normal exchange of emails and chats on the phone, I usually thank them and say:

"By the way, if you wouldn't mind leaving me some feedback online, I'd really appreciated. In your own words, please let me know about your overall experience. Your information will be greatly appreciated. Click this link to send feedback, or copy & paste the following web address into your browser".

This is a great way to end your email, it's short and simple and usually does the trick. For more on this, see Why a tiny bit of bad press can have a devastating effect on your bottom line.
